What are the CST aptitude tests?
Selection for Core Surgical Training (CST) in Ireland includes aptitude tests of spatial reasoning. CST Practice covers four of them: Dice Roll, Polygon Rotation, Shortest Path and 3D Balancing.
Is CST Practice official?
No. CST Practice is an independent practice tool. It has no link with the organisers of any test, who have neither approved nor sponsored it.
Are the examples real test questions?
No. Every example is made by the site, and none is copied from a real test. The examples follow the format of each test so you can practise the skill it measures.
How much can I practise for free?
The free plan gives 12 practice examples a day, shared by the four tests, with correct or wrong after each answer. They come back every day at midnight Irish time. No card is needed.
What does full access add?
Unlimited practice, timed tests, the full guide for each test, the right answer and a tip after every mistake, progress charts, where you struggle, a review of your wrong answers and a PDF report by e-mail. It will cost €25 for 3 months, paid once (not a subscription); it is not on sale yet.
How should I prepare?
Learn the one rule behind each test first and use it on purpose until it becomes automatic. Aim for accuracy before speed, and practise in short, frequent sessions: a few minutes a day helps more than an hour once a week.
Do I need to install anything?
No. CST Practice runs in your web browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. You sign in with your Google or Microsoft account.
Where are my results kept?
In your browser only, while you are signed in. They are deleted when you sign out; CST Practice keeps no copy. With full access you can e-mail yourself a PDF report to keep them.
